Most auto glass shops are built around the windshield because that is where the volume is. A windshield is laminated safety glass and it is only one of the panes on your vehicle — the back glass, the door glass, the vent glass and the quarter glass are all tempered, all behave completely differently when they break, and all need a different approach to replace.

We Turn Away.

Any vehicle with a camera behind the windshield needs that camera recalibrated after the glass is replaced, and Todd will not install glass without doing the calibration. That rule costs him jobs and he keeps it anyway, because an uncalibrated lane-departure or automatic-braking system is a safety system that quietly reads the road wrong.

It also means some vehicles get turned down. On 2023-and-newer Mercedes the calibration cannot be completed properly with current software, and Genesis sedans have a bracket that will not seat the camera correctly. Those get a straight no and a recommendation to go elsewhere. On 2024–2026 Nissan Rogue and Mitsubishi Outlander the job needs manufacturer software, which costs more — and you are told that on the phone, not at the end.

Yes. Mercedes from 2023 onward and Genesis sedans are turned away, because the ADAS camera calibration cannot be completed correctly on them with current equipment, and Todd will not fit glass without calibrating. You will be told on the phone rather than after the glass is out.
A chip repair is about 20 minutes with no cure time, so you drive away immediately. A full windshield replacement is roughly 60 to 90 minutes depending on the vehicle. If ADAS recalibration is required it is done on-site straight after, which adds time to the same visit rather than a second appointment.
